eMoviePoster’s April Major Auction comes to a close on Sunday, May 3, 2020. The third and final part of the auction is filled with 531 posters, lobby cards, and more.
Window card highlights are Black Cat, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Babes in Toyland with Al Hirschfeld art, and Dark Victory.
One-sheets include 2001: A Space Odyssey, Vertigo signed by art director Henry Bumstead, Star Wars birthday style, Schindler’s List with Saul Bass art, Pulp Fiction recalled advance, Quiet Man, The Sting, Psycho, The Devil is Driving, E.T. the Extra Terrestrial second printing, Man with the Golden Arm with Saul Bass art, and LA Confidential international.
Inserts are Double Indemnity, Return of the Vampire, Invasion of the Saucer Men, Bullets or Ballots, The Thing, A Christmas Carol, and Big Sleep.
Half-sheets include Things to Come, Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein style A, Revenge of the Creature style B, and Laura.
Other sizes include lobby cards for Frankenstein, Three Dumb Clucks, and Horse Feathers linen-backed, 30” x 40” posters for North by Northwest and Lawrence of Arabia acetate signed by Maurice Jarre, a Star Wars style A three-sheet, and a Steamboat Bill Jr. pressbook.
International examples are British quads of Ladykillers, Vertigo, and Cruel Sea, Italian For a Few Dollars More photobusta, French Le Serum one-panel, and an Australian Mad Max daybill.
Three surprising results from Part I of eMoviePoster’s April Major Auction were an Attack of The 50 Ft Woman linen-backed one-sheet for $9,255, Tarzan The Fearless linen-backed chapter 3 one-sheet for $7,003, and a Two Seconds linen-backed one-sheet for $4,540.
