Academy Award-nominee Edward James Olmos is joining Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Battlestar Galactica alum will be guest starring as Robert Gonzales. Marvel hasn’t offered much in the way of details about the character, though they have shared that his character will have a significant impact on the team. Other details, such as how long he’ll be on the show, have yet to be announced.

“Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales,” Jeph Loeb, executive producer of S.H.I.E.L.D. said. “When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice—including our favorite Agents.”

After serving as Commander Bill Adama on Battlestar Galactica, he appeared in Dexter, Eureka, and 2 Guns. Olmos’ impressive résumé also includes Miami Vice, Blade Runner, American Family, and Stand and Deliver.
