Early Highlights in ComicLink February Auction
The ComicLink February Featured Auction starts on February 13, 2013 and a growing preview is now available for viewing. ComicLink Consignment Director Douglas Gillock checked in to mention some of the early highlights already posted to this auction.
“ComicLink has already received numerous impressive items from consignors for this first ComicLink Featured Auction of 2013 across both the vintage comic book and original comic art segments. With key, high-grade Silver Age such as Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 9.4 and Fantastic Four #1 CGC 9.0 and exciting Golden Age issues such as Captain America Comics #2 (in CGC 9.0), Batman #1 and Jackpot #3, the comic book segment is shaping up to be a good one. The original artwork received already includes a few grail-type pieces, among them the complete 16 page (large art) Kirby story to Thor #134 featuring two incredible splash pages (and the best we’ve ever seen of Galactus), a great Steve Ditko Amazing Spider-Man page, and a Jim Lee half-splash of Wolverine from Uncanny X-Men,” he said.

“Original art already posted in the preview includes Jack Kirby’s full, 16 page ‘twice-up’ lead story from Thor #134 including the title splash and the best Kirby Galactus splash we’ve ever seen, a Steve Ditko Amazing Spider-Man #37 page featuring an iconic image of Spidey in action, X-Men art by Jim Lee (including an incredible Wolverine half-splash), a Gil Kane and John Romita Conan battle cover, four of the best covers from Howard Chaykin’s controversial Black Kiss series, Silver Age Hawkman and Flash art (a page from Hawkman’s second appearance by Joe Kubert), Silver and Bronze Age Gene Colan Daredevil art including the #25 title splash and the Daredevil Annual #1 title splash, a Bill Everett Sub-Mariner #58 action page with great Namor images, a Mike Zeck Web of Spider-Man page from the famous “Kraven’s Last Hunt” story arc, and more!
