The early Uncle Scrooge #20 original cover by Carl Barks will be auctioned by Gary Dolgoff Comics on eBay. The very rare “Weighing Money Bags” pencil and ink cover was published in February 1958. One of a small number of 1950s Barks covers that has survived, it will be open for bids on March 11, 2021.

The artwork was rendered on thick stock art paper that is approximately 18-3/4” x 13-3/4”. It is described as being in very nice condition with inks that are still dark and mostly white paper quality. Barks had used a small amount of correction fluid on the art and his pencils can be seen lightly in places just under and around some of the outlines.

When this piece goes up for auction, Gary Dolgoff Comics will also sell covers from Captain America, Challengers of the Unknown, Millie the Model, and more, along with some pages by Jack Kirby and others.
