The longest running American science fiction television franchise is on deck as the next comic book series from Dynamite Entertainment. In fact, it will be a series of series, since we’ll be able to check out comics based on the original Stargate SG-1, its sequel series Stargate Atlantis, and the newcomer, Stargate Universe.

The new show, Stargate Universe, will debut October 2, 2009 on the recently renamed SyFy (and no matter how much we hate the channel’s name, we love Stargate).

Dynamite’s Stargate #0 will feature stories from all three Stargate series, including Stargate Universe written by Chuck Dixon, Stargate SG-1 story by Brandon Jerwa, and Stargate Atlantis by Doug Murray.

On stop of all that, throw in a Dave Dorman cover and the fact that Stargate #0 will retail for just a buck and we’d say you have a winner!

It’s due in October.
