Dynamite; $5.99

It’s that special time for romance and Cupid has taken aim at an unlikely couple in the DuckTales Valentine’s Day Special 2026 #1. Scrooge McDuck has received a mysterious Valentine and is convinced that it is a trick. Across town, Magica De Spell is working on yet another plan to relieve Scrooge of his number one dime. During a confrontation, Scrooge and Magica are hit with a bit of magic that causes the pair to lose their memories and open their hearts to love.

This Valentine’s Day special written by Connor Ratliff and James III is cute with just the right amount of absurd romance. Watching Scrooge and Magica make assumptions about who they are and mistakenly falling for each other is quite funny. When they aren’t fighting, the richest duck in the world and the great sorceress work well together. They also bring out a sense of whimsy in each other, emphasized by Carlo Lauro’s animated art and Angela Minichini’s warm colors.
