This season on Doctor Who, Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor has been showing his musical talents by playing guitar to entertain the crowds. Now, the comics are following suit with variant covers inspired by rock album covers, created by artist Simon Myers (Scarlett Couture, Ghost).

The Twelfth Doctor Year Two #3 album variant mirrors David Bowie’s Heroes. In the issue, chaos overcomes a Scottish school when secrets are dragged from the bay into the light. The Doctor investigates while Clara unravels a conspiracy. It is on sale February 3, 2016.

The Twelfth Doctor Year Two #4 cover pays homage to Blondie’s Parallel Lines, focusing on Clara. Continuing the story, the body count is climbing at the school and the puppetmasters controlling things are revealed. Will the Doctor and Clara triumph by using the secret history to drive out the evil? This issue is on sale March 2, 2016.

Doctor Who: The Eighth Doctor #1 appears like Bob Dylan’s The Freewheelin’ cover. The all new story follows the Eighth Doctor, played by Paul McGann, as he starts a new adventure and meets a new friend. This book is out now.
