Americans love their homes and they love the art that goes inside of them.
The cable networks realized this early on, and even the major networks now have
high-grade home renovation shows. For many people, the most important part of
these shows is not the actual remodeling, but the little pieces of art that the
designers place around the rooms.

Those pieces of art can speak volumes
about the owner of a house. Heritage realizes how much these pieces of art can
mean to both a home owner and a collector. On March 20, they held a tremendous
Decorative Arts Auction in Dallas, TX. The auction had over 900 bidders and in
the end realized a total of $510,192.94.

“Dot Talbert, whose collection
accounted for the vast majority of this sale, was an extremely advanced art
glass collector, with a great eye for quality,” said Bryan Abbott, Consignment
Director for HGA. “As is often the case with high-quality consignments, we knew
that this collection was going to cause a feeding frenzy amongst collectors, and
we weren’t disappointed.”

The catalogs that Heritage has put together
have helped the collector’s world with their decision making process. “There
were several pieces in this sale that have most likely set records in the art
glass world,” Abbott continued, “including the Tiffany paperweight vase that was
featured on our cover”

You can find the details of the auction, as
well as some of the most beautiful images you could ever wish to see, at www.heritagegalleries.com.
The lines on the Tiffany vase that sold for $44,812.50 are flawless. As a
singular piece, it is a complete and total beauty. We feel compelled to say that
the frosting is to die for.
