DC has issued a warning to fans of their Harley Quinn series: it stinks! Harley Quinn Annual #1 will be a “scent-ticular” issue, polybagged to contain the smell. DC will release an edition specifically for US readers, with a second edition exported to countries around the world.

The US version will smell like suntan lotion, pizza, leather, and what’s described in the story as “cannabisylocibe 7-A.” DC is most likely producing a second scented copy considering it’d be difficult to ship a comic that smells like weed out of the country. Instead that copy will have the smell of a fresh cut lawn.

Writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner stated that the idea for a rub-n-smell issue came up as a joke, but developed into an actual idea for a comic. Palmiotti explained that the various smells will play into the story as Harley Quinn tries to free Poison Ivy from Arkham Asylum.
