DC Comics headed to New York Comic Con with big news about their comics slated for 2026, including the DC Next Level initiative and new comics under the Vertigo imprint.

DC Next Level

DC Next Level is set after the current DC K.O. event that sees heroes fighting villains, themselves, and even characters from outside the DCU, all while trying to stop Darkseid. This initiative starts with the new series Batwoman, Barbara Gordon: Breakout, Deathstroke Terminator, The Demon, Firestorm The Nuclear Man, Shadow of the Bat, Lobo, and Zatanna. More titles will be on the way after these initial eight books.

DC revealed that the creative team on Lobo is Skottie Young and Jorge Corona, while Batwoman will be handled by Greg Rucka and Dani. Batwoman is scheduled to launch in March 2026; dates for other books were not revealed.

Other creators working on the titles include Jeff Lemire, Tony Fleecs, Jamal Campbell, Joshua Williamson, James Harren, Mariko Tamaki, and Deniz Camp.

DC Vertigo

It starts with The Nice House by the Sea #7, continuing the story by James Tynion IV, Álvaro Martínez Bueno, and Jordie Bellaire. Bleeding Hearts by Deniz Camp, Stipan Morian, and Matt Hollingsworth follows a zombie whose heart starts to beat again in a society that’s run by the dead.

The Crying Doll by Mariko Tamaki and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell is a thriller about a woman who will do anything to protect her friend that may be a killer.
