Daniel Dae Kim to Star in Avatar: The Last Airbender
Daniel Dae Kim has been cast as Fire Lord Ozai for Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The Hawaii Five-0 and Lost star’s character is the leader of the Fire Nation and father of Zuko and Azula. As one of the series’ primary antagonists, he wages war against the other elements.
The live-action series will be executive produced by Albert Kim (Sleepy Hollow), who is also serving as the showrunner. The series will star Gordon Cormier as the Avatar Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko.
This is Kim’s third foray into the world of Avatar. He voiced General Fong in the second season of the original animated series and he voiced Hiroshi Sato in the spinoff, The Legend of Korra. The actor is also known for playing Ben Daimio in Hellboy and he recently voiced Micah in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is scheduled to appear on Netflix in 2022.
