Danger Girl, the popular 1990s comic about an all-female team of secret agents, is getting a special collected edition in J. Scott Campbell’s Danger Girl Artist’s Edition. Published by Skybound and Act 4 Publishing, this will be the first time that Campbell’s art has been collected in an artist’s edition format. The book will be offered on Kickstarter, beginning on September 9, 2025.

Created by Campbell and Andy Hartnell, Danger Girl debuted in 1998 and quickly became a top selling book. It followed secret agents Abbey Chase, Sydney Savage, and Sonya Savage as they embark on heroic missions around the world. They fight evil organizations like the Hammer and the Kama, and do everything from preventing nuclear disaster to stopping art thieves and corrupt entrepreneurs.

J. Scott Campbell’s Danger Girl Artist Edition collects over 150 pages of miniseries art, covers from Danger Girl books, model sheets, illustrations, flip book art, and more. It also has rarely seen sketches, page breakdowns, and commentary. Each page of art has been scanned at full size from Campbell’s original drawings, and it is packaged in a 12” x 17” hardcover.

“Having been a big admirer of Scott Dunbier’s stunning Artist’s Editions for many years, I didn’t think there would ever be an opportunity to offer my past work in this sort of volume,” Campbell said. “I am elated that we’ve been able to gather so many amazing scans from numerous collectors to provide fans and art appreciators with this fantastic collection.”

“As a lover of original comic art, it was always a treat for me when J. Scott Campbell Danger Girl pages would be turned in,” Scott Dunbier said. “Having that front row seat gave me an added perspective of just how talented he is as a storyteller. I’m looking forward to holding this Artist’s Edition in my hands so I can relive that feeling… and you can experience it for the first time.”

The Kickstarter campaign will include rewards like a Kickstarter exclusive slipcase, signed bookplates, prints, shirts, stickers, pins, and more.

“J. Scott Campbell inspired an entire generation of artists, and Danger Girl is his magnum opus,” Skybound Editorial Director Alex Antone said. “Every line of this book is bursting with energy, and I personally can’t wait to hold this gorgeous archive of original art in my hands.”

Fans can sign up for the mailing list to be informed about campaign details and updates before the Kickstarter campaign launches on September 9. Stretch goals and campaign exclusive products will be announced throughout the course of the campaign, which ends on October 8.
