Under the guidance of Editor Shawna Gore, Dark Horse Comics and New Comic Company have not taken very long to hit a stride with the new version of Creepy. In fact, while we were very happy with Creepy #1, the new version of the classic horror magazine really seems to be in a groove with the newly released Creepy #2.

It’s difficult to put a finger (severed or otherwise) precisely on what Ms. Gore and the talented slate of writers and artists have done differently – which makes it a bit more impressive, actually – but they have indeed succeeded in offering a great blend of horror styles. Most importantly, this is not just some nostalgia tour.

Creepy reads like it might have if it had simply kept going and growing from its original run as it presents material in its classic style and modern tales as well. A must for horror fans!
