With the opening shots of Marvel’s Civil War hitting comic shop
shelves this past Wednesday, the countdown to the upcoming ongoing series,
Heroes for Hire (HFH) continues.

Series artist Billy Tucci,
famous for creator-owned hit, Shi, is taking the helm as writers Jimmy
Palmiotti and Justin Gray weave together a new team of unlikely heroes.
According to Tucci, Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada hand picked him to
pencil the silver age relaunch.

“As you can imagine, it’s really
every comic book creator’s dream to work on an industry ‘icon,’” said
Tucci. “…Quesada thought I’d be a good fit for their new Heroes for
Hire
. Needless to say, I jumped at this incredibly fresh opportunity that
came to me on a silver platter!”

Working with Tucci on the painted
covers for the series is former advertising artist, Mark Sparacio. Sparacio, who
has a former student of comic legend, Will Eisner, has worked with Tucci on Shi

covers, as well as the cover for the ninth edition of The Official Overstreet
Comic Book Companion.
