The summer Maryland Toy Expo was held on June 14, 2025, returning to the Maryland Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. The expo was held in the 4-H building and the Exhibition Hall, which are conveniently located on either side of the main parking lot.

The Maryland Toy Expo is a family friendly show where any toy fan – from the toddlers to the older folks – can find something that will make them smile. While some toy shows focus on a certain time period, attendees at the Maryland Toy Expo can find pieces from the 1950s up to the latest releases.

A large group of toy, comic, and video game vendors and artists were spread throughout the two buildings. The vendor list included 2nd Chance Toyz, Action Figure Centric, Anne and Joseph Mee, Bob Cook, Bodyslam Toys, Brandon Weaver, Candance’s Collectibles, Chuck’s Comics, Clandestine Comics, Collectors Corner, Cubby Bricks, Duncan’s Toy Chest, Fox Base Alpha Toys, Good Guy Café, Groundbreaking Comics, Hideaway Collectibles, J+J Figures, James Valentine, Joseph White, Lost in Time Vintage Toy Store, MegaPrime Collectibles, Play Like A Girl Retro Toys, Play With This Toys & Collectibles, Rad Retro Relics, ReKennect, LLC, Retro 808 Pokemon & Anime, Retro Mutant Toybox, So Many Toys, The Collectors Castle, The Toy Cave, They’re Action Figures, Tom Miley, Toy Retro, Toy Society, Toys for the Ages, Vampire Robots, Welcome Back Comics, Absolutely Retro, Ambition Comics LLC, Angela McKendrick Studios, Baker Boys Collectibles and Toys, Barretta Collectibles, Creative Space Comics, EI Happy Trading LLC, Finch’s Toy Closet, Flipside Toys, Fright Night Sketches, Hard Way Wrestling, Heritage Comics HSQ, Jonathan Morris, Leticia Maniell, Linda Hayton, Main Street Geek, Mr. Bill Collectible, Nerd Haven TCG, Old Soul Toys, Pop’s Cards and Collectibles, Retro Replay, Roxy’s Rabbit Hole, Storm Crow Games, Tara Soul, The Last Toy Store, Toymaster’s Treasures, Victor Woodland, Wizards Realm, and Your Toy Connection.

Four Horseman Studios, the collectible figure design studio behind the Mythic Legions toys, had an impressive display at the expo. Eternia Dreams Toys & Collectibles had their own setup outside of the Exhibition Hall, including display cases and a trailer full of vintage toys.

Star Wars action figures, playsets, and vehicles from the original Kenner series, through the more recent Black Series were on several tables. G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Masters of the Universe toy lines were well represented. Similarly prevalent were Barbie dolls and accessories, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, and Golden Girl.

Vendors sold board games including classic titles like Life and Clue, along with games based on properties like Full House and Masters of the Universe. There were tons of sports cards, pop culture cards, and Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Dragon Ball Z, and other trading card games. Video game cartridges, consoles, and vintage handheld games were also available.

The breadth of material included 1970s Batman toys, Ghostbusters, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys, Aurora model kits, lunchboxes and trays, fast food toys, and Matchbox cars and Micro Machines. There were wrestling action figures and belts, Shogun warriors, robots, Godzilla toys, and other Japanese collectibles, Funko Pops, recent DC and Marvel action figures, Neca figures, comic books, and movie posters.

One vendor put a spin on ships in a bottle by putting toy spaceships from Star Trek and Star Wars into bottles. A few vendors had vending machines filled with a variety of small toys. The show also hosted artists who sold prints of their work.

Pro wrestlers Gillberg and Matt Riddle met fans at the show, and cosplay groups Charm City Ghostbusters and 501st Old Line Garrison posed for photos with attendees.

When Maryland Toy Expo opened early admission at 8 AM, there were already hundreds of attendees ready to start shopping. By the time that general admission began at 10 AM, both buildings were packed with collectors. It was another successful event for both vendors and collectors. The next Maryland Toy Expo will be held on November 1, 2025. News and updates will be available on their website.
