Comics Stolen from PA’s New Dimension
Todd McDevitt, owner of western Pennsylvania’s New Dimension Comics chain of comic book shops, has had a number of comics stolen over the past few months, he reported.
They include a CGC-certified 3.0 copy of The Avengers #1 (with heavy green color touch on Loki at the spine), a copy of Journey Into Mystery #83 (some tape repair on the cover and to an interior page with a several inch tear, staining at the spine from tape), a coverless and fairly brittle copy of Detective Comics #38, and a copy of Daredevil #1 (ranging from Good to Very Good).
Additionally, he said two copies of Giant Sized X-Men #1 were taken from his Cranberry, PA store between August 20 and August 23, 2009. He valued one at $800 and the other, with a spine split on the lower left, at $110.
He said that there is also a distinctive copy of Iron Man #1, a double cover issue on which both covers have creasing.
“I wantto spread the word about these since they are distinct. If anything passes by you like this, please try to get contact for the person or persons with them, so we can nab ‘em!” he said.
McDevitt’s cell phone number is (412) 965-1487.
