ComicLink Auction: Golden Age Spotlight

The current ComicLink Featured Focused Auction contains many quality items from the 1930s through the 1970s. In terms of Golden Age, there are nearly 500 items from pedigree collections ranging from Gaines File copies to the Crowley collection to the Mile High collection. Many of the comic books are in high-grade, and fall within the top three CGC graded examples for the issues they represent. There are also plenty of items to choose from for collectors that are not condition-sensitive. Participants will be able to bid on a range of popular titles, stand-out covers, and obscure rarities. Many key and first issues from the Golden Age of comics are also represented. The comic book segment of this auction will end over three days with items ending alphabetically by title, from Tuesday, October 16, 2007 through Thursday, October 19, 2007. 

The auction includes over 50 fresh to market, never been auctioned, near mint to mint condition Gaines File copies including valuable first issues with many CGC certified 9.4 to 9.8s, and one an incredibly unbelievable 9.9. The Gaines File copies are being offered without reserve. The auction also features some of the first published comic book from the 1930s from the personal collection of Bill Gaines, and over 25 high-grade issues from the Mile High pedigree collection. The Mile Highs range from issues such as All Star Comics #5 CGC 9.4 from the Jerry Bails collection. This key introduces the first female DC superhero in costume, Hawkgirl. Over 200 high-grade issues from the Crowley pedigree collection with many comics being the best, or among the best existing examples of many issues. Many other issues come from a myriad of pedigree collections: San Franciscos, Larsons, Rockfords, Lost Valleys and more.
