ComicConnect’s First Look at Original Art in Event Auction 66
ComicConnect is just days from the launch of Event Auction 66 on Monday, June 1, 2026. Now, they are providing a first look at the original art that will be offered in the auction.
This auction contains the famous Action Comics #1 Rocket copy among its Golden Age comic offerings, and it comes on the heels of ComicConnect’s record setting “Death of Superman” Auction.
The art offerings include John Romita, Sr.’s defining depiction of the origin of Spider-Man from Amazing Spider-Man #50. There’s also a Romita page from Amazing Spider-Man #108 alongside Modern master Humberto Ramos introducing Spidey to Disney on the cover of Amazing Fantasy #1000, matched with another variant.

The auction has horror highlights with Bernie Wrightson’s work for 1971’s House of Mystery #195. The cover art for the story “Bat Out of Hell” has become one of the defining works for Wrightson’s art in horror comics. Moebius provides the cover art for Marvel Tales #253 with a chilling interpretation of Morbius, The Living Vampire.
There’s a Jack Kirby page featuring the Silver Surfer and Galactus as Kirby reunites with Stan Lee for 1978’s The Silver Surfer: The Ultimate Cosmic Experience, plus George Pérez bringing together Marvel and DC icons for the cover of Comics Interview #6.
Other historical finds include Keith Giffen introducing Lobo in Omega Men #3, Frank Miller going to the morgue with Matt Murdock in Elektra Lives Again, and Neal Adams’ own death of Superman in Superman #213. The auction also contains works by Tim Sale, Bob Brown, John Byrne, and others.
