ComicConnect’s Event Auction 64 featuring vintage comics, rare memorabilia, pulps, and original art is now open for bidding.
Golden Age keys include Action Comics #1, Marvel Comics #1 4.5 , the first appearances of Aquaman and Green Arrow in More Fun Comics #73 8.0, Wonder Woman #1, Batman #1, All Select Comics #1, and Silver Streak Comics #7.
The Silver Age offerings are led by Flash’s debut in Showcase #4, Fantastic Four #1, Amazing Fantasy #15, Incredible Hulk #1, and Amazing Spider-Man #1. Some of the top Bronze Age books are Amazing Spider-Man #191 and Ghost Rider #1 9.8.
The original art section features Carl Barks’ original painting of “Sheriff Donald at Gory Gap” based on his cover of 1948’s Four Color #199. Dave Cockrum’s battle page from Giant-Size X-Men #1 showcases mutants old and new as they take on Krakoa. Frank Miller brings Elektra back from the dead in Daredevil #190 and Bob Layton depicts Tony Stark’s shocking downfall in the classic “Demon in a Bottle” story from Iron Man #128. There are also works from Jack Kirby, John Buscema, Adam Kubert, Howard Chaykin, Gil Kane, and others.
Event Auction 64 also offers a genuine artifact of comics history with the vintage drawing table used by beloved artist Al Plastino, where he created the majority of his most beloved work. Original Plastino pieces featuring art ranging from Superman and Batman to Nancy and Sluggo are also in the auction.
