ComicConnect’s Denny O’Neil Estate Auction Results
Denny O’Neil, the prolific and legendary comic writer, editor, and author, curated an impressive collection of personal copies and bound volumes. Since he passed away in June 2020, ComicConnect was selected to facilitate the auction of O’Neil’s estate. The auction closed on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
“We’re honored to have been entrusted with Denny’s personal collection we’re proud to be able to share his rich legacy with our clientele,” ComicConnect COO Vincent Zurzolo said. “We are grateful to everyone that helped put together this astounding auction, particularly, Buddy Scalera and John Paul, whose lives and careers were profoundly influenced by Denny’s generosity and knowledge.”
O’Neil’s copy of Cancelled Comics Cavalcade sold for $12,650, his Question Bound Volume lot with personal notes about Year 2 hit $5,750, his personal desk went for $3,181 while the typewriter hit $494, and a DC Comics Bound lot sold for $2,127. Bidding in ComicConnect’s Event Auction #45 begins March 22 at 12 PM ET. They are seeking consignments of comics, original comic art, video games, or most any collectible.
