A Jack Kirby page from 1978’s The Silver Surfer: The Ultimate Cosmic Experience is joined by his work on Thor’s fourth appearance in Journey Into Mystery #86, plus a 1953 Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz, and Jim Aparo’s Aquaman cover for Adventure Comics #449.
Dave Stevens pays tribute to iconic art of the past with work from The Rocketeer graphic novel, Carmine Infantino and Dick Giordano revisit Barry Allen’s origin for The Flash #309 and George Pérez brings together Marvel and DC greats for the cover of Comics Interview #6. Other historical finds include Keith Giffen introducing Lobo in Omega Men #3, Frank Miller going to the morgue with Matt Murdock in Elektra Lives Again, and Neal Adams’ own death of Superman in Superman #213.

Event Auction 66’s Modern Age highlights include Tim Sales’ imposing art from Batman: The Long Halloween #7 and a Tony Moore splash for The Walking Dead #2, joined by an action-packed page from Jon Bogdanove’s Superman: The Man of Steel #19, Rob Liefeld’s work for New Mutants #96, Jim Lee’s wild page from X-Men #6 and Batman production art for LEGO.
