Grey Flannel Auctions, sports memorabilia giants are opening a new division specializing in antique coin-ops and amusements. “It is a full-time, dedicated division that deals with unique antique amusements, primarily coin-operated machines of all types, and with the addition of antique advertising and celebrity memorabilia,” Richard E. Russek, President of Grey Flannel Auctions commented.

The Long Island based company has appointed Robert M. Adams III as the new department head. He’s a court-certified appraiser and consultant, and has assisted auction houses, estate executors, and collectors for over forty years. Using his skills, Adams will organize a special coin-ops section in Grey Flannel’s regular yearly May and December events. The auction on May 14, 2008 will introduce the new division with over 250 coin-op lots and related items, featuring rare examples from 1962’s Seattle World’s Fair.

Grey Flannel has a competent team headed by Russek, with his son Michael Russek serving as director of operations and T.J. Favilla as the director of auctions. Richard E. Russek has been at the top of sports memorabilia selling for twenty years. He founded Grey Flannel in 1999, which is the only auction house that has ever held an auction at Yankee Stadium, an institution unto itself within the sports world. “We are known for our unwavering commitment to authentication. It has earned us the reputation as ‘the standard of the industry,’” Russek said. He continued, “Grey Flannel sells only guaranteed-authentic items, and leaves no stone unturned in obtaining provenance to back it up.”
