It’s that painting! You know you’ve seen it before, and more than once. Here’s a clue: picture Monica, Chandler, and Rachel stretched across an orange sofa, drinking coffee and bantering about their latest romantic dilemmas. You got it! It’s the artwork that hangs behind the iconic couch at Central Perk, the Friends’ favorite hangout – and it’s headed to auction this Saturday, May 20, 2023, in Beverly Hills with a presale estimate of $85,000-$100,000.

The painting is a serious contemporary artwork, an acrylic on oil by Metin Bereketli titled “Diversity 5.” It’s going to be offered at King’s Auction Inc’s sale of art from the collection of Musee d’Art Moderne in LA. Bidding on this piece of colorful TV history can be done live at the auction or the art can be bid on at LiveAuctioneers.

There’s going to be a champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception from 12 PM to 3 PM PT on auction day, and it’s open to the public. Artist Metin Bereketli will be one of the special guests in attendance to meet with potential bidders. Those who wish to attend the champagne preview must RSVP to King’s Auctions.
