We’ve made no secret of what big Captain Action fans we are here at Scoop, so it shouldn’t be any surprise that we’re very happy with the word from Moonstone Books that a trade paperback collecting Captain Action #0-6 is on the way.

Written by Fabian Nicieza, Marv Wolfman, and Steven Grant and illustrated by acclaimed Overstreet cover artist Mark “Sparky” Sparacio, the 120-page Captain Action: A Call To Action features a cover by Paul Gulacy and carries a $13.95 cover price. It’s due in stores in July 2010.

This new take on the classic Ideal Toys action figure from the late 1960s has been very enjoyable and we look forward to the full package.

But when will our pals at Captain Action Enterprises and our friends at DC Comics get together and do a collected edition of the classic material by Wally Wood, Jim Shooter and Gil Kane?

Well, until then, this new collection from Moonstone will definitely suffice!
