A new Scooby gang is forming. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot series has announced several new cast members who will join Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Sarah Michelle Gellar. The cast additions include Ava Jean (Law & Order: SVU), Faly Rakotohavana (Unprisoned), Sarah Bock (Severance), Daniel Di Tomasso (Major Crimes), and Jack Cutmore-Scott (Frasier)

Armstrong (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew) is starring in the show as a high school introvert named Nova who is called to be the next Vampire Slayer. Gellar is reprising her role as Buffy Summers in a recurring capacity and is also an executive producer on the series.

Jean will star as Larkin, a do-gooder student; Rakotohavana is playing Hugo, a privileged and geeky student; Bock will be Gracie, the church-going student leader; Di Tomasso is starring as Abe, Nova’s father and photojournalist; and Scott will portray Mr. Burke, a popular high school teacher.

Oscar winner Chloé Zhao (Nomadland) is directing the pilot, which is being written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. The show has a pilot order at Hulu and comes from 20th Television and Searchlight TV. Gellar has stated that her hope is to create a mix of new and returning characters, including characters who are no longer alive.

Little else is known about the project, including the official title and release date.
