Copper to Modern keys in the auction include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1, a rare high grade copy of Gobbledygook #1 CGC 8.0, Albedo #2 CGC 8.0, Bone #1 CGC 7.5, Raphael #1 CGC 9.2, The Crow #1 CGC 9.4, and Batman: the Dark Knight Returns #1 CGC 9.8.
“Investment collectors have always sought the rarest, highest graded comics they can find, as traditionally, those are the books that provide the greatest return,” Zurzolo added. “In that pursuit, newsstand editions are regularly outpacing auction prices of the direct market comic shop editions, achieving sometimes double the value and even more in the same condition.”
Some of the rarest newsstands offered are Venom: Lethal Protector #1 CGC 9.8 (black printing error), Amazing Spider-Man #194 CGC 9.8, #238 CGC 9.4, and #252 CGC 9.8, Captain Marvel #14 CGC 9.8, and Spider-Woman #1 CGC 9.8.
