Two original Thunderbirds puppets will be offered in Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction. The puppets were used in Gerry and Syliva Anderson’s science fiction puppet TV show in the mid-1960s and films that followed. The auction will be held in London on December 4-6, 2026.

The original Brains puppet in the auction was used in the Thunderbirds series, and the Thunderbirds Are Go! and Thunderbird 6 feature films. The screen-matched puppet has the original production head, hands, body, legs, internal operating mechanisms, and glasses. Mary Turner sculpted the head of the Brains puppet for the TV show, and then it was given a darker skin tone and wig for Thunderbird 6. The puppet is in the costume from the movie’s opening sequence.

The original Tin-Tin Kyrano puppet sculpted by Christine Glanville for Thunderbird 6 is also up for auction. The puppet retains the original production head, hands, body, legs, and internal operating mechanisms. It is dressed in the original red flying suit worn during her trip from Tracy Island to Creighton-Ward Manor.

The Thunderbirds began in 1963, introducing what would become one of Britain’s most beloved TV shows. The puppet heroes of the International Rescue thrilled and delighted with their “supermarionated” world saving exploits. Just as exciting, however, as the Tracy family (all named after astronauts) were Lady Penelope, Tin Tin, Kyrano, The Hood, and crew. They were the fantastic crafts or Thunderbirds that transported the gang and equipment, could travel at amazing speeds and sparked the imagination as to what the future could hold.

According to Propstore, complete original Thunderbirds puppets rarely hit the collecting market. The Brains and Tin-Tin puppets were among the five used in promotional appearances for Thunderbird 6 in 1968 and ’69. They were added to Gerry Anderson Memorabilia Archive in 1989 and spent decades appearing in exhibits.
