Boston Metaphysical Society on Kickstarter
A Boston Metaphysical Society new standalone story titled Ghosts and Demons by Madeleine Holly-Rosing is now on Kickstater. The campaign, which is seeking to raise $4,850, features a 35-page story and the first Boston Metaphysical Coloring Book.
Boston Metaphysical Society: Ghosts and Demons is a paranormal, alternate history account done in the styles of penny dreadful, steampunk, and Gaslamp fantasy. The Kickstarter description reads, “Caitlin and Alma have continued Mary and Frida’s work as union organizers, but when Caitlin has a disturbing dream about her childhood friend, Duncan the ghost, she decides to return to Boston to find out what’s wrong. Though it is a happy reunion with Samuel and Granville, something much more sinister awaits her and the team.”
Ghosts and Demons was inspired by the author’s standalone short story Here Abide Monsters, according to the campaign. It follows the original six-issue miniseries set in a steampunk alternate version of 1800s Boston, about an ex-Pinkerton detective, a spirit photographer, and a genius scientist who are confronted by supernatural forces.
Artist Alejandro Lee has created 20 illustrations for the coloring book, featuring images of the main characters in an 8-1/2” x 11” book.
Reward levels start at $6 for a PDF of the book up to $75 for a signed print copy and a private consultation with the author, among other rewards.
The Kickstarter campaign is open now through Friday, February 21, 2020.
