BOOM! Studios Announces Comic-Con Exclusives

On July 19-23, 2017, BOOM! Studios will be exhibiting at the 48th annual Comic-Con International: San Diego. Held at the San Diego Convention Center on 111 Harbor Drive in San Diego, BOOM! Studios will debut an upgraded booth design, which can be found at booth 2229. While the publisher has yet to reveal its panels and signings, they have revealed exclusives that will be available for purchase at their booth.

In an unprecedented crossover event, written by Conor McCreery (Kill Shakespeare) and illustrated by Mattia Di Meo, Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time and Regular Show finally meet. This Comic-Con exclusive of issue 1 is the worldwide debut of the series and features a cover by Sanford Greene (Power Man and Iron Fist). Meanwhile, an exclusive cover by Eryk Donovan (Quantum Teens Are Go) connects with the Comic-Con exclusive cover to Amory Wars: Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV #4, to form the complete “Good Vs. Evil” image. This issue – written by Claudio Sanchez (Coheed and Cambria) and Chondra Echert (Translucid) with illustrations by Rags Morales (Action Comics) – will be available at the Evil Ink booth.

From the BOOM! Studios’ BOOM! Box imprint comes an exclusive of the debut issue of Misfit City. This issue, written by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith (Legally Blonde) and Kurt Lustgarten, with illustrations by Naomi Franquiz, features a cover by cartoonist John Allison (Scary Go Round).

As homage to Jim Lee’s cover to X-Men (Vol. 2) #1 in 1991, four Power Rangers Comic-Con exclusive covers connect to form one image illustrated by Dan Mora (Klaus). Written by Kyle Higgins and illustrated by Hendry Prasetya, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #17, kicks off a new story arc. While Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers, launches a new Power Rangers ongoing series by writer Ryan Parrott (Power Rangers: Aftershock) and artist Mora. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2017 Annual is a one-shot special that contains short stories by Kyle Higgins, Tom Taylor, Jamal Campbell, Goñi Montes, Dan Mora, Frazer Irving, and more.

BOOM! Studios’ KaBOOM! Imprint presents an extremely limited 7” x 5” zine for fans of Patrick McHale’s Over the Garden Wall. This exclusive is written by Ryan Ferrier (Regular Show: Wrasslesplosion) and illustrated by Over the Garden Wall storyboard artist Jim Campbell. It includes two different covers, each by Campbell. From writer Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy), novelist Courtney Alameda (Shutter) and newcomer artist Hyeonjin Kim comes Sisters of Sorrow. This Comic-Con exclusive features a cover illustrated by Vanesa R. Del Rey (The Empty Man). 

The new ongoing for Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe will also make an appearance at Comic-Con. This Comic-Con exclusive, written by Grace Kraft and illustrated by Meg Omac (Adventure Time Comics), features a cover by Paulina Ganucheau (Zodiac Starforce). While an exclusive for BOOM! Studios’ WWE comics – written by Dennis Hopeless (All-New X-Men) and illustrated by newcomer Serg Acuña – features a cover by Lynne Yoshii celebrating the Women’s Revolution of the WWE.
