BOOM! Studios’ monster hunter Erica Slaughter is going to meet DC’s swamp dwelling antihero in the one-shot, Swamp Thing is Killing the Children. James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera, the co-creators of Something is Killing the Children, are teaming up on the dark supernatural tale.

Studios Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing Josh Hayes said. “Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson are synonymous with comics I grew up on, and absolute masters of their craft. To have modern masters like James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera telling a tale like this is something – I mean Swamp Thing that I can’t wait to read!”

Swamp Thing has been in comics for over 50 years, first introduced by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson in House of Secrets #92 (July 1971). He is a tragic character who began as a promising young scientist that was transformed into a creature made of vegetable matter. In this form, Swamp Thing uses his abilities to fight scientific and supernatural threats.

Debuting in 2019, Something is Killing the Children follows Erica Slaughter as she hunts down monsters that kill children. The book was the first step in the Slaughterverse, that grew to include House of Slaughter (exploring how Erica became a monster killer), and several one-shots.
