BOOM! Announces NYCC 2018 Panels

BOOM! Studios has announced its panel programming schedule for New York Comic Con 2018 to be held at the Javits Center on October 4-7. 

The publisher will once again occupy booth 1828 near the front of the convention floor, bringing with them special guests including a WWE superstar, former Power Rangers, bestselling novelists and a diverse lineup of talent from BOOM! Studios graphic fiction lineup.

Kicking things off on Thursday is the “Entertainment is LGBTQ” panel in room 1A21 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Moderated by Steve Foxe (Paste Magazine), join Marguerite Bennett (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Phil Jimenez (Wonder Woman), Andy Mientus (The Flash), Lilah Sturges (Lumberjanes), Megan Townsend (Director of Entertainment Research & Analysis, GLAAD), and more for a discussion about LGBTQ representation in pop culture. 

Next up on Friday, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM in room 1A24 is “BOOM! Studios: Discover Yours.” R.L. Stine (Goosebumps), Sturges, Greg Pak (Firefly), Delilah S. Dawson (Sparrowhawk), Matt Gagnon (Editor-in-Chief, BOOM! Studios), and moderator Filip Sablik (President, Publishing & Marketing, BOOM! Studios) lead a discussion on the imprints of BOOM!

On Saturday, from 5:15 PM to 6:15 PM in room 1A02, uncover what’s next for the imprint with “BOOM! Box Fall Mixtape.” Moderated by Brigid Alverson (Publishers Weekly, ICv2, Good Comics for Kids) with special guests Sturges, James Tynion IV (The Backstagers), Mientus, Jackie Ball (Goldie Vance), Christine Larsen (By Night), and others. 

Finally, on Sunday from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM in room 1A24, a new team of Power Rangers come together for “Power Rangers: Beyond the Grid.” Discuss the future of the Power Rangers with Bennett, Kyle Higgins (Saban’s Power Rangers: Soul of The Dragon), Daniele Di Nicuolo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Simone Di Meo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Dafna Pleban (Senior Editor, BOOM! Studios), Megan Ruggiero (Publishing Manager, Hasbro Entertainment & Licensing), and moderator Laura Prudom (Executive TV Editor, IGN).
