Book of Boba Fett: Initial Details Emerge
The Mandalorian season two closed with a scene that teased the return of popular bounty hunter Boba Fett. Disney+ has since announced the series, The Book of Boba Fett, which will begin in December 2021.
The Book of Boba Fett will star Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Morrison was introduced to the Star Wars franchise in 2002, playing Jango Fett, the basis for the clone army and Boba Fett’s father.
The series will take place in The Mandalorian’s timeline with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez as executive producers. Favreau and Filoni are both executive producers on The Mandalorian. Rodriguez directed episode 14 of season 2 in which Boba Fett came to the aid of Din Djarin.
Favreau announced the show while appearing on Good Morning America. He also explained why the show wasn’t announced during Disney’s investor day, stating that they didn’t want to spoil the surprise that appeared on The Mandalorian.
