Blink and You’ll Miss It #2
BOOM! Studios; $4.99
Perennial Harbor is a very strange place. In the first issue, Jesse Harmon returned to the town after many years away to find it looking like a ghost town and the few residents behaving like disconnected shells. She was searching for Melody Nelson, the girl she was in love with before leaving town, only to find Melody behaving as oddly as the others.
This issue picks up with Melody’s story, starting when she is an old woman and sending her back in time to relive moments of her life. It’s a surreal experience that leaves Melody disoriented and confused as she tries to understand the weird things she’s seeing. Her trip back in time also reveals important elements to the creepy town and how it affects the residents.
This second issue by Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan is like reading someone else’s really bizarre dream. It starts out being a little confusing – which puts the reader in Melody’s shoes – but when Melody reaches a critical moment in her past, things start to make more sense. Perennial Harbor is filled with secrets that Jesse and Melody are just beginning to find.
