Binc Announces Two New Board Members
The Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation has named Meghan Holmes and Susan Yeager to their board of directors. Both are described by Binc as “industry leaders” that formerly worked at Borders and have years of book industry experience in retail, sales, and marketing.
Holmes is a marketing executive who has more than 16 years of experience in retail and marketing. Her career began at Borders in marketing and operational positions, she has been involved with Binc for nearly 25 years, and was the vice president of the board from 2010 to 2013.
Yeager was a bookseller for Borders and spent 17 years as a trainer, buyer, category manager, and inventory director. In 2007, she joined HarperCollins where she is now the senior director of sales, she has volunteers for Adult Literacy, New York Road Runners, and on the steering committee of Greene Hill Food Co-op.

“I am excited to welcome Meghan and Susan to the board,” Binc Board President Chris Morrow said. “They will add significant talent and experience, and we are very grateful for their time, energy and planning as we celebrate Binc’s 30th year of support for the frontline book and comic sellers who are the lifeblood of the industry.”
The board’s executive committee has reelected Morrow (former owner of Northshire Bookstore) as president, Michael Jacobs (former president and CEO of Abrams Books) as vice president, Jonathan Putnam (historical fiction author) as treasurer, and Emma Kaas (co-owner of Norwich Bookstore) as secretary.
The board also announced that Writers House literary agent Steven Malk has completed his service with Binc.
“I am grateful for the experience these industry leaders bring to the Binc board as well as their dedication and commitment,” Binc CEO Pamela French said. “They give generously of their time, and their insights are invaluable. Welcome Meghan and Susan, and big thanks to Steven for his service and generosity to Binc and to book and comic people across the country. We are forever grateful he has used his influence and passion for book people and Binc.”
