On Saturday, April 2 from 2 pm to 4 pm and on Sunday, April 3 from 2 pm to
4 pm, artist Jerry Robinson (creator of The Joker) will be the guest of honor at
The Big Apple Convention in New York City.
Jerry is excited to make this rare convention appearance to meet and greet
fans, discuss the “ZAP! POW! BAM!” museum exhibition, and sign (and/or inscribe)
copies of the museum catalog.
Jerry will also be doing sketches on the days that he appears as well as
bringing a couple of surprises for the “Batman fan” who thinks he has everything
in his collection.
For those that will be attending from April 1 through 3, a table will be
set up at the convention selling exhibition catalogs from “ZAP! POW! BAM! The
Superhero: The Golden Age of comics, 1938-1950” on behalf of The Breman Museum.
The catalog is a wonderful collectible of the show now at The Breman Museum
(http://www.thebreman.org/)
in Atlanta, Georgia – a must for every comics fan unable to see this
extraordinary retrospective of original art, comic books, and memorabilia
in-person. It contains articles written exclusively for this catalog by: Jerry
Robinson, Jules Feiffer, and Michael Chabon, among others. The 64-page,
full-color glossy cover features the iconic cover of Superman #14. This
beautiful historical reference includes full-page reproductions from original
comic book cover art: Superman #14, Master Comics #22, Speed
Comics
#35, Green Hornet #9, Detective Comics #69 and several
more.
Most of these pieces have never been seen publicly before and were
graciously loaned to The Breman Museum from private collections, galleries, and
libraries.
