This Halloween special by Liam Johnson is pretty deep. It has a villain who does awful things while thinking they are helpful, and Vampirella confronting her dark past in order to help people. It also touches on the ways that some children are forgotten by the system and must grow up too fast to stay safe.

This issue continues the book’s trend of checking in on multiple storylines with each main character getting a few pages. The Slayer is confronted by the detectives and must find a way to avoid being arrested to complete his mission. Readers learn more about the mysterious golden man, and the Mad Hatter has a macabre tea party.
