After a lightning-fast sell out, the Green Arrow and Black Canary Wedding Special is going back to press to print a second edition! The second arrival is scheduled to be in stores on October 17, 2007. The printing will feature a cover by Ryan Sook.

Even though the comics have been selling out at record speed, the fans of Green Arrow and Black Canary seem to be pretty upset about the wedding and the design of the wedding dress. Many wished DC would not have conducted the ceremony with the theme of “superhero.” They claim it’s like their alter-egos don’t even exist. However, the point can be made that in these kinds of gatherings, which are filled to the brim with superheroes, one can almost expect some kind of villainous act to occur, which, in this case, actually happens, forcing the attending superheroes to respond, but also allowing them to keep their secret identities concealed.

As for the wedding dress? Fans claim no woman on earth would have gotten married in such a tacky monstrosity. It resembles the superhero theme and costume of Black Canary but fans say that it was too much. A wedding dress is a big deal for a woman on her wedding day and many say DC should have followed Marvel’s lead with X-Men’s Storm and hired a real-life fashion designer to create a dress for Dinah. Perhaps a dress with elegance? If DC wanted to pay homage to her costume, many agree they should have tried doing it a little more subtly.

With all that said, fans are more than pleased with the artwork by Amanda Conner and story line by Judd Winick. I can’t think of many woman, superhero or not, that would get married in that wedding dress, but I can certainly think of a few guys who would get married dressed as the Green Arrow. Now that my friends, would be a wedding to remember!
