Alex Simmons has recently announced that his hit comic Blackjack returns with Blackjack Shooters available on CreateSpace now and on Amazon on January 25, 2015. Blackjack Buried Secrets is also available on Amazon and two more books are on the way.

Simmons will be at the Schomburg Library’s Black Comic Book Festival on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 10 AM to 7 PM. The third annual event celebrates the tradition and impact of black comics through a day full of panel discussions, film screenings, hands-on workshops, and exhibit tables with black comic artists from all over the country. Simmons will be signing and selling books, he’ll take part in a tricks of the trade Panel On Publishing and lead a workshop on the Art of Making Comics.

He’ll be collaborating with Kids Comic Con International working with students from three different countries to create comics art that reflects their imaginations and cultures. Simmons will lead free comics workshops with New York City high school seniors as they enter the Penguin Random House Creative Writing Competition. Then for the fifth year he’ll also team up with the Christopher Barron Live Life Foundation to teach comic art to fifth graders in New Jersey.
