So, Ben Affleck is the new Batman. That didn’t create a Twitter-storm or anything.

Oh, wait, it did.

Warner Bros. had already announced that director Zach Snyder’s as yet untitled sequel to Man of Steel would feature Batman and Superman, but they hadn’t previously named the actor who would be wearing the cowl. Now they have, and it’s actor (and Argo director) Ben Affleck.

And the Twitter-verse went wild.

“The cat’s out of the bag, bat-fans. Ben Affleck will don the cowl for 2015’s Man of Steel follow-up, the first time Batman and Superman will be united on the big screen,” said The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, which took a look at the reactions on Twitter.
