The crew of the Enterprise are ready for their next journey in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season three. The beloved sci-fi franchise released a new trailer for the upcoming mission, displaying the series’ signature upbeat energy and humor.

“In season three, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve. An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, season three takes characters both new and beloved to new heights, and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek,” per the official synopsis.

The trailer starts by reconnecting with most of the ensemble cast while Una Chin-Riley (Rebecca Romijn) can be heard in voiceover stating that, “Our job is to bring light, bring warmth, bring life, to wherever we go.” We see the team working together and celebrating together, and encountering hostile foes.

Pelia (Carol Kane) warns that there are evil beings in the universe, and Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) advises James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley) about the responsibility of being a captain. The trailer promises new romances, new adventures, new worlds… and the odds of blowing up. It ends with a humorous scene in which Spock (Ethan Peck) asks guest star Patton Oswalt’s Vulcan character for a high five.

Season three will also star Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Babs Olusanmokun as Joseph M’Benga, Martin Quinn as Montgomery Scott, and Melanie Scrofano as Captain Batel.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season three will arrive on Paramount+ on July 17, 2025.
