Adlard & Condon’s Of The Earth Debut Heads Back to Print
Of the Earth, the eco-horror title from artist Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead) and writer Chris Condon (That Texas Blood) is being rushed back to print. The debut issue of the book co-written by Andrew Ehrich with colors by Pip Martin has sold out at the distributor level, according to Image Comics.
“In Of the Earth, Tabitha ‘Tabby’ Black flees a sordid life for her quiet hometown of Solitude, Texas and the comfort of her Gramma’s home where she was raised. Only home isn’t what it once was…. and neither is Gramma,” per Image’s description.
The Of the Earth #1 second printing will have a new cover by Adlard, who has returned to single issue storytelling following his run collaborating with Robert Kirkman on Invincible and The Walking Dead.

“Of the Earth has sold out and is going back to print! I didn’t know I’d be saying that,” Condon said. “You hope that your book does well, of course, but there’s never any guarantee, so I couldn’t be happier when the news hit my inbox last week. It’s incredible to see the reaction the book is getting from reviewers and readers, especially when it’s been such a blast to make. I’m proud of the book and I’m proud of each of my collaborators – Charlie, Andrew, Pip, Hassan, and Michael – who helped bring this gritty idea to life. Everyone did a fantastic job on every intense panel and on every intense page (and in Michael’s case, everywhere else too), so I’m truly honored to see that work finding the audience I think it deserves. Make sure to pick up this second printing which features a fantastic new cover from Charlie Adlard. It might be my favorite cover of the series thus far!”
Of the Earth #1 second printing will be in comic shops on June 24.
The second issue is scheduled for release a week before that on June 17 with covers by Adlard and Jeffrey Alan Love. Issue 3 is out on July 15 featuring covers by Adlard and Dani, then issue 4 is scheduled for August 12 with covers by Adlard and Mike Perkins.
