Abrams ComicArts is heading to Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend on September 25-27, 2026. They will host special appearances by Derf Backderf (The Dissidents) and Chip Kidd (The Avengers in the Veracity Trap!), a panel on Saturday, and signings all weekend.

Kidd, Backderf, and Editor-in-Chief Charles Kochman will be at the Abrams ComicArts booth #1902 throughout the weekend. They will sell Backderf’s books The Dissidents, Trashed, My Friend Dahmer, and Kent State, and The Avengers in the Veracity Trap! by Kidd and Michael Cho.

Other books at the booth include Framing Emmett Till by Christopher Benson and Eric Battle, The Simpsons Comic Strip Cavalcade by Matt Groening, Marvel Dimensions by Alex Ross, and Doctor Strange: Endless Nightmare by Kevin J. Anderson, Raúl Allén, and Patricia Martín.

MUTTS: Sunday Funnies Vols. 1 and 2 by Patrick McDonnell (pre-publication release), Human Nature Vols. 1 and 2 by Darren Aronofsky, and Billy Bat Vols. 1 and 2  by Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki will also be for sale at the con.

The Abrams ComicArts panel “Comics, Design, and the Art of Dissent: Derf Backderf and Chip Kidd in Conversation” is on Saturday at 1 PM in room 338. Kochman will moderate the panel with Backderf and Kidd, who will discuss their new graphic novels, The Dissidents and The Avengers in the Veracity Trap. They will also discuss the collaborations they have done during the past 20 years.
