Creators Robert Windom (M1: Monster Racing League) and Mirko Čolak (Spawn) are collaborating on Innen, a story about supernatural vengeance. The one-shot from Image Comics will arrive in January 2027.

“Innen” is a reference to the relationship between rivals. The book takes place in Japan where a girl swears to exact revenge after seeing her mother’s murder. She finds an ancient helmet that transforms her into a warrior demon, but to get her revenge she needs to beat the helmet’s karmic enemy.

“I have been a fan of Mirko’s for a long time and knew he’d be perfect for a real challenge: a throwback to G.I. Joe #21, where the art has to say everything,” Windom said.

“The absence of dialogue presented a unique challenge, pushing me to tell the story entirely through visuals, expressions, and atmosphere,” Čolak said.

Innen #1 features a main cover by Čolak, a variant cover by Jae Lee, and a black and white 1:25 incentive variant by Lee.

The one-shot will be in comic shops on January 20.
