Alice Forever After #1
BOOM!; $4.99
There’s a problem in Wonderland. Since Alice had a daughter, she doesn’t spend nearly as much time thinking about the magical world, and that lack of attention is causing it to collapse. The Cheshire Cat has tasked the Doormouse with finding the White Rabbit so that he can convince Alice to return. But there are others involved – in Wonderland and our world – who have different ideas about how to handle the situation.
In the first issue of Alice Forever After, writer Dan Panosian reintroduces some of Lewis Carroll’s principal characters, set years after the events in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The storyline is intriguing and has potential for another fantastical journey, and that essence is captured through the dialogue and art.
The art duties are shared by Panosian (illustrating London) and Giorgio Spalletta (drawing Wonderland), with colors by Francesco Segala. We see Alice living the happy life of a mother and working on a special project and the creatures of Wonderland have the requisite sense of whimsy needed to capture their magic.
