Action 50th Anniversary Special Due in April 2026
Action, the boundary-pushing British comic that premiered in February 1976, is getting a new oversized special issue in time for its 50th anniversary.
When Action was introduced it shocked readers in the United Kingdom with its bold action stories, unflinching violent content, and social commentary. Following a cover in which a teenager is seemingly assaulting a cop, Action was pulled from store shelves. Once the book returned it was a censored version of the earlier comic and would soon be cancelled in late 1977.

Now, Rebellion Publishing is reviving Action for a special that features top talent and some of the book’s well known characters. In “Dredger” by Garth Ennis and John Higgins, the secret agent returns for a violent, vengeance fueled investigation into the death of his partner, Breed. “Hook Jaw” by Steve White and Staz Johnson follows the killer shark as it stalks a boat filled with drug dealers far out on the high seas.
“Hellman of Hammer Force” by Ennis and Mike Dorey is set on the Eastern Front in 1944 when Panzer commander Kurt Hellman leads a German team against a Soviet unit. “Look Out for Lefty” by Rob Williams and Patrick Goddard sees the hot tempered soccer player Kenny “Lefty” Lampton trying to mount a comeback after he gets benched.
The Action 2026 Special will be in comic shops on April 15.
