Comic book, comic art, and fan zine events for children and teenagers will be held at art exhibits in January 2026 in Newark, New Jersey and Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Newark Museum of Art will host the Junior Museum: Comic & Cartoon Workshop for children that are 7 and 8 years old. The five-week event from January 24 to February 21 will begin with art basics and character designs. Each week kids will learn about storytelling and improving their art skills, leading into creating a completed short comic. The final week will be a special art showcase in which kids can show off their work.

The workshop will be held in the Newark Museum of Art Main Building, South Wing. It is located at 49 Washington Street in Newark, New Jersey.

The Cincinnati Art Museum is hosting the Teen Fest: Zine and Comic Exchange on January 31. There will be artist demonstrations, teens can meet local zine creators, and exchange zines with other kids. Attendees can get graphic novel recommendations, make their own zines, write poetry, plus there will be snacks and giveaways. The Teen Creative Passport that gives teens and families access to art programs and related activities in Cincinnati will be available at the event.

The program will run from 1 PM to 3 PM. The Cincinnati Art Museum is located at 953 Eden Park Drive in Cincinnati, Ohio.
