The heroes of Hawkins are ready for one more fight in the final Stranger Things trailer. The group will engage Vecna and his monstrous minions in their attempt to save the planet from the Abyss.

The trailer features a voiceover by Hopper (David Harbour) who is giving Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) a pep talk before the last battle. While he mentions what has been taken from her and what she has endured, the trailer acknowledges how Will (Noah Schnapp) and the rest of the party have also suffered because of the Upside Down.

There are multiple shots from important moments throughout the series, as we see military vehicles descending on Hawkins lab in the Upside Down and Eleven about to enter a giant sensory deprivation tank. Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) is shown in his hidden cave in the Abyss, there’s a shot of Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) screaming while someone holds him back, and Eleven, Max (Sadie Sink), and Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) presumably in the mind of Vecna. The trailer ends with multiple characters looking up from the top of Hawkins lab as the Abyss descends toward it.

Stranger Things season five part two provided pivotal character moments that resolved some issues and set up the finale. Max finally got out of Vecna’s mind and back into the real world, Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) had an important relationship conversation, Dustin and Steve (Joe Keery) dealt with their issues, and Will came out to his family and friends. Kali revealed that Dr. Kay (Linda Hamilton) was pumping her blood into pregnant women in the hope of creating more children with abilities. This leads Kali to suggest that when they take out Vecna, she and Eleven should stay behind so that no more mothers and children will be put through what they endured. It ends with the group setting up a plan to stop Vecna from merging Earth and the Abyss.

Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Winona Ryder, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, Vickie Amybeth McNulty, Cara Buono, Nell Fisher, and Jake Connelly will also appear in the Stranger Things series finale.

The last episode, titled “Rightside Up,” will start streaming on Netflix on New Year’s Eve at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.
