Throughout 2025, Scoop reported on a large number of auctions in which many types of collectibles were purchased for exciting and record breaking prices. Now, we are presenting a sampling of impressive prices achieved in pop culture and historical categories that include toys, movie and TV props, movie posters, decorative art, trading cards, and more.

Hake’s Auctions produced many newsworthy sales for Star Wars toys like the Darth Vader 12-back-A AFA 80 that sold for $130,095, the Special Early Bird Certificate Package rare store display AFA 70 for $112,100, and the Ben Kenobi 12-back-A AFA 85 (double-telescoping/Sku on footer) for $105,182. A Luke Skywalker 12-back-A AFA 85 with double-telescoping lightsaber went for $84,370, Return of the Jedi/La Guerra de las Galaxias: El Regreso del Jedi Boba Fett 30-back AFA 75 realized $77,885, and an Early Bird Mail-Away Kit AFA 90, featuring the double-telescoping Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 cleared $45,430.
Antique and vintage toys covered everything from robots to vehicle toys and more. Morphy Auctions sold a Japanese ‘Honeymoon’ Robot Car with box for $233,700, a 1904 Ferris Wheel made by the revered German firm Marklin for $156,000, a circa 1904 Marklin hand-painted III-gauge live steam LNWR locomotive for $123,000, and Marklin clockwork paddle wheel boat Boston for $79,950.

Bertoia’s toy sales were led by a late 19th century Althof Bergmann Santa in a Goat Sleigh that reached $96,000, a clockwork version of the Civil War boat the USS Monitor brought $34,800, and an 1890s Jean Schoenner live steam powered ironclad ship went for $34,800. In addition to the Star Wars toys, Hake’s also sold the Mickey and Minnie Mouse on Motorcycle tin wind-up toy for $58,410 and a G.I. Joe U.S.S. Flagg Series 4 vehicle AFA Qualified 85 sold for $44,261.
Propstore had many six- and seven-figure sales of movie props and costumes, especially for Star Wars material. Darth Vader’s hero lightsaber used by David Prowse and stunt performer Bob Anderson during climactic battles in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi sold for $3.6 million. Chewbacca’s photo-matched Bowcaster with restored dressing components that was used in all three original Star Wars films cleared $768,600. Boba Fett’s hero screen, photo, and serial number matched EE-3 carbine blaster from The Empire Strikes Back that realized $607,068.

Propstore’s six-figure sales continued with Indiana Jones’ bullwhip, belt, and whip holster from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade that reached $485,100 and Indy’s fedora from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom brought $482,328. Jean-Luc Picard’s Ressikan flute and screen-matched box with “the Inner Light” costume continuity script from Star Trek: The Next Generation totaled $403,200 and Rick Dalton’s screen-matched “Betty” flamethrower from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood went for $346,500.
Heritage’s prop and costumes sales were led by Margaret Hamilton’s screen-worn Wicked Witch of the West flying hat from The Wizard of Oz that hammered for $575,000. They also sold a Star Wars: A New Hope original 1977 half-sheet painting by Tom Jung for a record $3.875 million

eMoviePoster held multiple auctions during each month of 2025 highlighted by The Mummy title card that sold for $106,500, Dracula window card for $39,500, Dracula scene card for $25,222, Hunchback of Notre Dame 1928 rerelease one-sheet for $29,500, Invisible Man scene card for $24,555, Things To Come linen-backed one-sheet for $20,000, Casablanca linen-backed one-sheet for $19,500, and It’s A Wonderful Life one-sheet for $17,250.

Heritage sold the Weird Tales #118 CGC 9.2 Margarat Brundage “Bat Woman” cover for $105,000 and the 1994 Fleer Marvel Masterpieces No. 115 Spider-Man original trading card art and preliminary sketch PSA 10 by the Hildebrandts for $81,250. Hake’s sold a Star Wars Holiday Special Boba Fett and Stormtroopers production animation three-cel setup and painted background for $39,804 and the Aurora Incredible Hulk model kit box lid original art by Neal Adams reached $32,204.

Heritage had two huge non-sports trading card sales with the Pokémon Pikachu illustrator unnumbered promo CoroCoro Comics card PSA 9 going for $625,000 and the Pokémon Raichu 14 Unlimited Base Set prerelease card PSA 6 totaling $550,000. Hake’s sold the 1933 World Wide Gum Sea Raiders copyright file copy complete US card set CGC graded plus wrapper for $68,964 and the 1929 Babe Ruth signed card R316 Kashin Publication card PSA 2 with PSA/DNA 7 autograph for $47,258.
The 2024 Panini Rookie Royalty WNBA Flawless Platinum Caitlin Clark Logowoman card sold for $660,000 at Fanatics Collect. A 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle top level baseball card finished at $59,000 and 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle baseball card PSA 1.5 Fair cleared $50,150 at Miller & Miller Auctions. They also sold a game-used, team-signed Bill Barilko hockey stick from the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 1950-51 Stanley Cup championship season soared to $70,800.
