Dynamite; $4.99

Harley Quinn and Elvira have come to an arrangement and now the Mistress of the Dark is temporarily cohabitating with the lovable lunatic. While Elvira gets accustomed to her new surroundings, Harley enlists the help of her Gang of Harleys to make some money so that they can pay their house guest for her appearance at the big party.

This issue sees writers Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti back into their groove as Harley Quinn writers and pairs their brand of humor well with Elvira. Harley is starstruck and a little smitten with Elvira with comes across as Harley trying too hard to be hospitable while also hitting on Elvira. Then you add funny scenes of Elvira surveying her strange situation, and interactions between Elvira and Red Tool for a funny issue.

The humor is displayed very well in the art by Conner and Juan Samu, and colors by Conner and Walter Pereyra. Harley’s apartment is a chaotic mess of her favorite things (including more than a few Wonder Woman items), and Elvira’s reactions are quite bemused.

Pairing Elvira’s sexy, cheekiness with Harley Quinn’s chaotic energy is making for a really fun book.
