It’s a well established fact that love hurts, but in the Tortured Hearts Valentine’s Day special it will also cut, slash, and maim. The 56-page EC book from Oni Press and William M. Gaines Agent, Inc. will deliver a “coffin-shaped bouquet” in February 2026.

“Just in time for Valentine’s Day, here’s one for all of you lovesick lunatics, rancid romantics, and forlorn fatalities…” per Oni’s description. The book features stories by Jordie Bellaire (Redlands), Tini Howard (Excalibur) and Blake Howard (Vampire: The Masquerade), Ann Nocenti (Daredevil), and Amy Roy (Epitaphs from the Abyss). The art is provided by Sebastián Cabrol (Hulk: Maestro), Fabiana Mascolo (Cyberpunk 2077), Dan McDaid (Outlaw Showdown), Arjuna Susini (Lamentation), and others.

The book also contains a newly restored and remastered EC classic story by William M. Gaines, Al Feldstein, and Reed Crandall.

Tortured Hearts features cover A by Dustin Weaver (Avengers), cover B by Miguel Mercado (X-Men), cover C by Tom Fowler (Refrigerator Full of Heads), an EC homage variant (1:10) by Shawn McManus (Fables), black and white artist edition variant (1:20) by Tom Fowler, and archive edition variant (1:50) by Patricia Martín (Blood Type).

It will be in comic shops on February 11.
